Czechoslovakian
Perfume Bottles and Boudoir Accessories,
by Jacquelyne Y. Jones North, Jacquelyne Jones-North,
Ken Leach, Ruth Forsythe, France
This
classic book has been out of print for five years, and
used copies have actually sold for $200 on the Internet.
Now this volume is back in print in a greatly expanded,
revised edition. All pages of the original edition have
been retained and more than 800 perfume bottles are
shown in color. The revised edition adds new essays
by three leading perfume bottle authorities. Ken Leach
describes America's fascination with perfume bottles
and related items (c. 1910-1950), with special attention
to the role played by Hollywood. Ruth Forsythe writes
about recent reproductions of Czech perfume bottles.
Madeleine France provides new historical perspectives
and offers a hierarchy of perfume bottle categories
to aid the collector.
Accompanying these essays are 62 new photographs in
spectacular color. With the addition of this new material,
the book has expanded from 128 to 16 pages. An up-to-date
1999 price guide concludes the work. This book provides
essential information to collectors, and is a visual
delight to all lovers of beauty.

Vintage
Czech Pink Crystal Perfume Bottle
This
pretty in pink perfume bottle measures 5 1/4" base
to the top of the stopper. "Made in Czechoslovakia"
in an oval is etched on the underside. It has an inverted
heart shape which is clear crystal - the surrounding
design is frosted glass with a molded floral design.
The stopper is good - has one vague scratch on the clear
part. There is some roughness along the edges of the
heart on both sides. This does not appear to be from
use, but rather was part of the cutting process. There
is a tiny chip along the inside rim which is only visible
upon very close scrutiny. This bottle has not been used
and is basically in almost new condition, although it
is not perfect, but I think any imperfections are minor
and probably happened at the point of manufacture. It
is a lovely display piece. This is an unusual bottle.
I have never seen one like it. ID=CZ26

c1930s LARGE CZECH MADE CUT
GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE
This
is not only the largest perfume bottle I have ever seen
but it's also one ofthe nicest have ever seen.
It
stands just about 10 inches tall. This bottle is very
outstanding!
The
bottom half is Czech made glass that has been beautifully
cut with a wonderful design. The
upper portion is truly pretty with the female figure
under the arch surrounded by the molded in flowers. The
original glass dauber is still intact! On the bottom
is the remains of an old foil label. It looks like "Irice
Product, Made in Czecholovakia." There are a few
flakes chipped off on the base, but with the elaborate
cut design, they really get lost in the pattern. Other
than that I would say it's in very good to excellent
condition. ID=CZ42
