From
a wonderful collection of antique purses, a very
rare beveled glass purse in a brass frame with
a mirror bottom. One would think this piece is
a jewelry holder but there is the handle to carry
as a wonderful purse. To open - the front panel
comes down and some treasured items may be displayed
or carried. From a collector's estate this was
found with many Art Deco period purses and dates
from that era, more likely on the later side of
Deco c. 1930's 40's. The purse sits on four ball
feet, has a fold over closure and is in excellent
condition - glass and mirror intact - some discoloration
to the metal on the underside bottom of the purse,
the metal may have been cleaned at one time but
there is some age darkening. Measures 4"h
(without the handle) x 4" wide x 2 1/8"d.
So enchanting is this look - it brings fairy tales
and Cinderella to mind. A beautiful piece to display
and add to a fine purse collection. |
