Antique Art Nouveau Bronze Spelter Lydia Bust Statue

The little statue is definitely Art Nouveau in style and dates to the 1900-1910s range. The piece is made from a white metal that is then painted to look like bronze. The statue depicts a beautiful young woman with her clothing draping off her shoulder. At the base it says Lydia, which I believe is a famous and often reproduced image going all the way back to Roman times. This is a Art Nouveau adaptation of the Lydia character. The statue measures about 6" tall and is in excellent condition with just some minor paint loss here and there. Very rare and really high quality – you have to see it in person to fully appreciate it. Guaranteed old and original! Although unsigned this was made by Emanuele Villanis in the first years of 1900.
